Providing jobs to millions, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) form the backbone of any a strong economy. Their capacity for innovation, job creation and ability to adapt to the ever-changing business environment makes them a vital building block for economic growth and prosperity. Nowhere is this more important than in Egypt, which has long been the largest SME hub in the Middle East in terms of sheer numbers and operating density.

Shan State Tourism & Agriculture Sector Development

After the political opening in Myanmar, the economy has started to grow. But positive growths effects are uneven, especially outside the urban areas of Yangon and Mandalay, and business practices are not always sustainable.

Tourism has been identified by the Government of Myanmar as a priority growth sector, and has seen considerable growth since the inauguration of the civilian government in 2010. Tourism, not only in Myanmar, but especially in Shan State is accelerating fast.

The project will comprise 4 action fields

(A): "Improvement of the Legal Framework Conditions for NBFIs" (macro level) creates the necessary conditions for an improvement of the framework conditions concerning SME financing through NBFIs.

Trotz seines im Vergleich zu anderen Wirtschaftssektoren langsameren Wachstums spielt der für Klimaänderungen anfällige Agrarsektor immer noch eine wichtige Rolle in der sozio-ökonomischen Entwicklung des Landes. Der Sektor erwirtschaftet ein Viertel des Bruttosozialprodukts, beschäftigt 44% der Arbeitskräfte des Landes, sichert die weitgehende Versorgung mit Grundnahrungsmitteln und erbringt einen großen Teil der nationalen Exporterlöse.
