Technical Vocational Education & Training (TVET) in the agricultural sector in Africa

The second international long-term expert (16 person-months) has the task to advise the planning, preparation and implementation of curricula development, Training of Trainers and Training Provider support activities in the various pilot countries, with a special focus on gender in skills development and involvement of the private sector.

Support for the Implementation of the Myanmar Trade Development Programme (TDP)

The Trade Development Programme (TDP) is a 44 months’ technical assistance programme (Jan. 2015-August 2018) that has been entrusted by the European Union to GIZ under an indirect management delegation agreement.

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the enhancement of inclusive economic growth of Myanmar by enabling the country to take advantage of its re-integration into the world trading system including ASEAN, and the opportunities for trade and investment.

Promotion of Agriculture – ProAgri III

The  program"Promotion of Agriculture - ProAgri", supported through the German cooperation, comprises two modules of technical cooperation and two modules of financial cooperation. In the ProAgri module of technical cooperation, the development of the agricultural sector is promoted through the creation and development of value chains. The value chains chosen for the project are the rice, soy, cashew and shea nut value chains. The objective is: the performance of the selected value chains are improved in a sustainable way.

Consultancy services for developing and implementing the on-site supervision of microfinance in Jordan

Jordan's microfinance sector has been growing strongly in recent years but has been neglected by regulators, thus comprising significant stability risks. After having conducted a sector assessment, the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) concluded to take over a leading role in both regulating and supervising the microfinance sector.

Development of Farmer Investment School Training Concept

The FIS (Farmer Investment School) aims at training emergent farmers, farmer-based organizations (FBO)/cooperatives and rural agri-based MSMEs to improve their business skills and capacities to plan and execute profitable and productivity enhancing investments. Target groups of the training shall already have acquired a basic knowledge on short-term economic planning. The FIS concept therefore builds on existing training concepts (e.g. Farmer Business School, BUS, CEFE).

Dairy Value Chain - Zambia

The overall objective of the GIC’s activities along the dairy value chain is to improve the income of smallholder dairy farmers in Southern Province, increase the employment rate and the improvement of the local availability of dairy products
