The Asian Development Bank (ADB) requires the services of a consulting firm with specific expertise in health security and One Health approaches to provide capacity development and advisory support in the implementation of the regional technical assistance (TA) on Strengthening Regional Health Cooperation in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).
The purposes of the contract are:
Agriculture & Finance Consultants GmbH (AFC) is a private German consulting firm focusing on agriculture/agribusiness and financial sector development projects in developing and transition countries (www.afci.de). We participate in tenders of internationally renowned clients such as GIZ, KfW, EIB, EU, ADB, WB and implement currently projects in 55 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
The GIZ programme “Sustainability and Value Added in the Cotton Economy” is a new project in Uzbekistan within the portfolio of the development cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany. The project itself is a country package within the global programme promoting sustainability and value addition in cotton supply chains.
Tasks within the scope of the project:
The consultants will work with 6 institutions: State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), 4 financial institutions, and 1 non-financial institution to strengthen their operations to better serve WSMEs. ADB will select the participating institutions.
The main objective of the proposed Technical Assistance (TA) Grant is to increase both domestic and international competitiveness of selected high value fruit commodities with a focus on agro processing and value chain development. The TA has been jointly developed by IDB and ICD to cover both the public and private sector engagement in establishing the fruit cluster in the province.
AFC as part of the Market-Oriented Agriculture Programme (MOAP) in Ghana has produced a training film on Conservation Agriculture (CA).
On the 20th of January 2020, AFC attended the 6th German-African Agribusiness Forum in Berlin which was organized by the Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft and the German Agribusiness Alliance.
On January 16, 2020, the new team from the German-Kazakh Agricultural Dialogue project (Agrarpolitischer Dialog, APD) welcomed an official Kazakh delegation in Berlin.
Mr. Aidarbek Saparov, First Vice Minister for Agriculture in Kazakhstan and head of the visiting delegation emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to the ongoing cooperation, which aims to improve the legal and institutional frameworks of the sustainable agricultural sector in Kazakhstan.
