The objective of the project to improve the regulatory, technical and financial framework conditions for the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of high Andean wetlands (understanding wetlands as the whole “Páramo” ecosystem and considering a special focus on wetlands of international importance under the Ramsar convention).

The project aims to support the government of Ukraine in the adoption of EU acquis in the fields of agriculture and rural development, fisheries and aquaculture. It will contribute to raise the capacities of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and its executive agencies in designing and implementing key reforms in these sectors and enhance the functionality of Ukraine’s services, control and infrastructure system in a gradual alignment with relevant EU and other international standards.

Scope of work:
The purpose of this EU financed project is to provide Technical Assistance (TA) for the coordination, implementation and monitoring of all activities and components under Business Environment and Competitiveness for Salone (BECS) Programme. BECS aims to strengthen the competitiveness of local MSMEs, enhance effectiveness of National Quality System and improve business environment. The TA shall conduct institutional capacity building and support the implementation of relevant reforms and policies.
The “Deforestation-free supply chains” program, financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development aims to improve the framework conditions and capacities of key actors to increase the sustainability of production and marketing in the agriculture and aquaculture supply chains for cocoa, shrimp, livestock, timber and pitahaya, thereby reducing pressure on forest ecosystems in the provinces of Esmeraldas and Manabí.
