Local Farm Advisory Services in Northern Cyprus
The purpose of this contract is to accompany decision-making as regards farm advisory/extension servicesin the northern part of Cyprus.
The expert is expected to provide capacity-building to relevant local stakeholders to make decisions, design and implement advisory services strategies. The technical assistance will prepare guidelines for a grant scheme and possibly technical specifications for supplies related to farm advisory services. The consultant will be involved in strengthening monitoring capacities as regards the implementation of advisory services.

Objectives: Economic growth increases and is more inclusive: Improved framework conditions for economic activities contribute to increased investments and raised income.
► Makro level
- Advice the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT), the State Committee for State Investment and State Property, and the Ministry of Agriculture in the introduction and implementation of methods and instruments for rural economic development focused on SMEs business development services;
- Support to public-private dialogue

The overall objective of the contract is to enhance the competitiveness of the SMEs in the apiculture sector in the target provinces (i.e. Ordu, Samsun, Sinop, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize).
The expected results of the contract are:
- the establishment of an institutional infrastructure which will increase the competitiveness of the apiculture sector in the Black Sea region, and
- the facilitation of access to business development services by regional SMEs (producers of industrial apiculture products).
