Financial Access, Knowledge and Service Delivery in Savings in India

This project will focus on three main areas of interest. The first is related to the expansion of the EKO program to new areas previously excluded from financial services catering to low income families in Bihar. The second area of focus will be on testing the impact of financial literacy training. The third will look at the optimal way to deliver this training.

Technical Asstiance on microfinance operations to Beichuan Fumin village and township bank

Beichuan Fuming Village and Township Bank (the VTB) was established in 2007 in Bichuan, Mianyang Municipality, Sichuan Province. In 2008, the whole county town of Beichuan was flattened due to the earthquake. The VTB was also completely destroyed, as its building collapsed and some of its staff members died or were seriously injured. The VTB was then rebuilt in 2009 and became the first VTB in China which can operate beyond its geographic location, i.e. operate in other counties in Mianyang Municipality, including An county and Fucheng District.

Impact assessment of microfinance sector in Kosovo

The Association of Microfinance Institutions of Kosovo - AMIK has received financing from the World Bank (International Development Association) toward the cost of the Financial Sector Technical Assistant Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The services include conduction of an assessment on the impact of microfinance industry in Kosovo. The objective of the impact assessment is to provide reliable evidence on the impact of microfinance products and services on the clients of microfinance institutions.

SME Departemnet Strenghthening for a bank in Nepal

The broad objective of this project is to enable the bank to undertake SME operations in a structured and focused manner so that it can properly target the desired SME segments, develop products and services for them, build up necessary internal infrastructure to cover more geographical area and diversify the business portfolio by shifting concentration from corporate banking. More specifically, the assignment should strive to achieve the following goals: 1. Segment the SME market, define the target 2. Conduct a diagnostics study towards establishing a profitable SME strategy

Banking supervision Agency Vietnam

The Socialist Republic of Vietnam, with the project owner as the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, has received a credit from the International Development Association of the World Bank Group for implementation of the Third Rural Finance Project (RF III). A part of the credit is converted into a grant from the Government budget to finance the payment under the contract for "Strengthening the capacity of supervision and inspection on micro-finance and technical assistance to the BSA". Financial Education and Financial Literacy Project in Russia

The Financial Education and Financial Literacy Project is the result of the need to improve financial literacy and consumer protection in financial services. Currently, the level of financial literacy in Russia remains low.  The majority of the population lacks confidence that their interests as consumers of financial services can be protected. At the same time, demand in Russia is high for financial education. 

Analysis of the food-safety situation and development of a regional action plan for the improvement of food safety

In order to define priorities and develop a harmonized approach to address regional issues related to food safety, it had been necessary to conduct a baseline assessment, which then will be used to programming interventions related to improve the structures (trade, health, on-farm production) relevant to food safety in the respective Central Asian countries.
