AFC’s day out in the Green!

On the morning of the 14th of September, the anglophone agricultural team of AFC set out to an existing outing under perfect sunshine:

Starting with a "rafting tour" on the Rhine, we met in Erpel and got a short introduction to paddling, man over board situations, and commands for the rafting tour.
 

After each one has fought his and her place on the rubber dinghy, the trip started downstream towards the destination of Niederdollendorf, 18 km away. With sunshine and best wind conditions, the trip goes along historic buildings and the Siebengebirge, past large freighters and ferries.

Despite a slight swell, everyone stepped up and we made it in time for a delicious lunch in Oberkassel.

Afterwards, we went to the Arboretum "Park Härle" (www.arboretum-haerle.de ).

In the park, a detailed guided tour showed us beautiful old trees and a diversity of plant species.

We also learnt about the botany of the park landscape and got a historical background introduction to the development of the park and the supporting foundation. The charm of the Rhine and the green spirit of the park still resonate!
