Low Carbon Energy Facility

The Project "Low Carbon Energy Facility” addresses these challenges. Under this Project the two “Partner Financial Institutions” (PFI’s or Employers) UniCredit Banka d.d. Mostar (UniCredit) and Intesa Sanpaolo Bank BiH (Intesa) will implement the credit lines under this project to be extended as EE1 loans to MSMEs, municipalities and municipal companies.
The primary objective of the Project is the successful introduction of the "Low Carbon Energy Credit" to refinance investments in energy efficiency among MSMEs and municipalities through the Employers, thus contributing to the deepening and broadening of the financial sector as well as to climate protection through the reduction of energy consumption and CO2-emissions in BiH.

The objective of this accompanying measures assignment is to support the 2 two Employers individually and separately to successfully implement the respective EE credit lines to enable MSMEs and municipalities to finance EE investments in accordance with the Sustainability Guideline of KfW Development Bank

Qualifications: 

Minimum requirements

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline e.g. environmental science, environmental engineering, or similar
  • 8 years‘ relevant professional experience
  • Experience in developing and implementing ESMS for banks or financing institutions against international standards including sub-loans with high or substantial E&S risk
  • Experience with IFI financed programs
  • Fluent English written & verbal

Further relevant qualification/experience

  • Experience in BiH and/or the Project region relevant to the project
  • Experience with training and capacity building
  • Fluent Bosnian written & verbal
Start / Duration: 

The overall Project duration is estimated at forty-eight (48) months. Currently it is expected that the Services will commence in March 2025
