
The BMZ’s special initiative “ONE WORLD – No Hunger” (SEWOH) has set itself the goal, among other things, of overcoming malnutrition among the people living today and creating the conditions for future generations to be able to feed themselves adequately. The global project (GV) with its module objective: "The nutritional situation and the resilience to hunger crises of food-endangered people, especially women of reproductive age and small children, are sustainably improved" thus makes a direct contribution to achieving the goals of the Federal Government to overcome hunger and malnutrition.
Task Description
- Overall coordination of activities in three areas of activity: (i) improving seasonal availability of diversified and healthy food products; (ii) improving knowledge on nutrition, hygiene and household economics in the family environment, and (iii) capacity development to improve multisectoral basic services in nutrition, agriculture and hygiene
- Coordinating and ensuring communication with the donor, partners and other project participants
- Ensuring coherence and complementarity of the client’s services at national and regional level
- Contribute to the preparation and adaptation of the operational plan
- Budget and financial management
- Contribution of the client to the management, progress and reporting of the project
- Coordination of the work plans and new measures
- Exchange and networking in coordination with the donor in the region with other governmental and non-governmental institutions, especially the implementing partners
- Continuation of cooperation with local NGOs in the field of communication, awareness-raising at the household
- Supervision and management of national project staff
- Identifying the need for international and national short-term interventions
- Planning and administration of local grants
- Regular and ad-hoc reporting in German
- Contribution to impact monitoring
- Preparation and implementation of the follow-up survey and endline survey
- Technical support for in-country food security in-country projects on food security and diversified nutrition
- Participation, presentation of good practice and exchange of experience

Qualifications:
- University degree (Diploma/Master) in Nutritional Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Health, Public Health, Food Technology
- 10 years professional experience in the food security sector
- 8 years of professional experience in maternal child health services, nutrition-sensitive agriculture and multisectoral approaches
- 3 years of leadership experience as a team leader in projects
- 5 years of work experience in the Sahel region including 3 years in Burkina Faso
- 5 years of experience in project monitoring
- 3 years of experience in implementing gender-sensitive measures
- Fluency in German, English and French
