German-Kazakh Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD Kazakhstan)

Political leaders, experts and managers as well as representatives of civil society in the Kazakh and German agricultural sectors have a growing mutual understanding of key agricultural policy issues and take international know-how into account in political decision-making processes. 

Specific tasks: 

  • Supporting the team leader and the deputy team leader in terms of content, methodology, planning and evaluation, organisation of events, reporting, etc. 
  • Contacts and networking with partner structures in the country, including the private sector 
  • Support of the STE missions  
  • Editing of analytical materials 
  • Organisation of dialogue forums and other events 
  • Visible representation of the project according to external, e.g. in specialist panels, etc. 
  • Support for preparation and organization of project steering committee meetings 
  • Translations and interpreting services within the framework of project implementation on three languages Kazakh, Russian and English. 
  • Support of the team leader in reporting report dates according to contract AFC/GFA/BMEL. (Reports will be in German and written by the teamleader. The LTE will provide relevant data for result 3 in English.)  
Qualifications: 

Necessary minimum requirements / exclusion criteria 

  • Completed university studies 
  • Min. 5 years of professional experience 
  • Experience with institutional and policy advice, especially experience in working with ministries and political institutions of several countries (min. one year) 
  • very good knowledge of the Russian and English language 

Further qualifications / experience that will be positively considered within the framework of the assessment (advantageous) 

Professional background 

  • University studies Economics / Finance, Agricultural Sciences / Agricultural Economics, Political Sciences 
  • Professional experience in agricultural finance 
  • Several years of professional experience in international cooperation 
  • Experience with the preparation of studies, concepts, advisory products in the agricultural and food sector 
  • Practical experience in working with many different stakeholders from public and private sector, research institutions, advisory systems etc. 

Regional expertise  

  • Professional experience in Kazakhstan, the post-Soviet space, Central Asia or other transition states, especially those with comparable sector conditions Methodological competence 
  • Experience in the development of: Cooperation models, benchmarking, strategies, counselling methodology, further education concepts and systems including digital solutions.
