Development Goal: Egypt's regulatory structures and systems in the area of quality assurance are improved and high-quality herbal products are available to the Egyptian market.
Project objective: The Egyptian-German technical dialogue has been established and contributes to improving the structures and systems with regard to quality assurance in the primary agricultural production of plant products.
The agricultural sector plays a key role in the Tunisian economy by contributing >9% to the GDP, ensuring a high degree in food self-sufficiency and contributing to 10% of national exports. Almost 15% of the Tunisian population makes a living in agricultural activities.

The study "AFA 2050" is being carried out as part of the GIZ project "Soil Protection and Rehabilitation (ProSOL)" in Tunisia. The overall objective of the project is to improve the capacities of the AFA agency through modernisation and digitalization aiming to establish a modern and functional land development authority.
As one of the poorest countries in the world, Yemen is facing a multitude of problems including food insecurity, malnutrition, and poor sanitary and health conditions. Since 2015, the country has been undergoing a war that has further deteriorated the situation, displacing millions, causing casualties, and resulting in a catastrophic loss of economic wealth. In 2019, the UN estimated that about 75% of the population needed humanitarian assistance and protection.
