The largest exhibition of organic products, Biofach 2023, opened its doors again. Biofach is not only a trading platform for organic companies offering their organic products to the international arena and expanding their business, but also a place for deepening knowledge, strengthening partnerships and enabling political dialogue. The 10th jubilee National Pavilion of Ukraine was held as part of this global organic event, exhibiting companies, governmental and non-governmental organizations involved in the development of the organic sector in Ukraine, and international projects that are providing financial support to the Pavilion.
Our project "German-Ukrainian cooperation in organic agriculture (COA)”, financed by German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, supported the Pavilion of Ukraine at Biofach 2023, as well as an event within the fair’s congress program: "UKRAINE – one year after the beginning of the war – the innovation power of organic farmers and global supporting strategies”. Moreover, COA presented a new film which demonstrates in an impressively empathatic manner the main aspects of the life and work of organic operators in Ukraine during 2022.

In addition, at Biofach, the COA team leader, Dr. Stefan Dreesmann, held a number of important business and political meetings with high-ranking officials and international experts involved in the organic law-making process of Ukraine. Thus, during the meeting of Dr. Dreesmann with the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Taras Vysotskyi, it was agreed on further close cooperation between the governments of Germany and Ukraine for the implementation and harmonization process of organic legislation of Ukraine.
The Project's intentions are most confidently demonstrated by Mr. Dreesman's statement from the presented film: “Our project, the German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Farming, will continue to support the organic sector in Ukraine. On all levels. For the development of the organic law in Ukraine. For the support of the authorities in Ukraine. For knowledge transfer. And, be sure, for the support of the organic farms in Ukraine. We stand with Ukraine”.
