This is the motto of the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) and the objective of the “Berlin Agriculture Ministers' Summit” and the “International Agriculture Ministers’ Panel Discussion” held during the “International Green Week 2013”. The GFFA is an international political event focussing on central future issues of the global agri-food industry. It is held for the fifth time in this form during the International Green Week (IGW) and unites politics, science and industry in a platform facilitating the exchange and political understanding on a chosen agricultural policy topic. Ministers of Agriculture from all over the world use this platform to find joint answers on this year’s topic “Responsible investment in the food and agriculture sectors – A key factor for food security and rural development”. The global financial efforts to reduce poverty and hunger are specifically aligned to the agriculture and food industry. Only with investments, productivity, and increased competitiveness, rural areas may stabilise and poverty can be combated. Agricultural investments are therefore a key factor in the fight against hunger.
