On 24 April 2018 AFC Agriculture and Finance Consultants has conducted the closing workshop of the first phase of the project “Implementation and Enhancement of Agri-Insurance under the Rural Financial Sector Development Programme in Serbia”.
The project had started in March 2016. Together with our partners AgroInsurance International (AII) and Academy of German Cooperatives (ADG), we have over the last two years successfully introduced the innovative bankassurance product AgroProtekt, which is combining a loan with an insurance component and hereby strengthening the risk management of Serbian farmers.
The workshop was opened by KfW and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management (MoAFWM). After having had presentations from both our Team Leader and the representatives from Generali Insurance and Banca Intesa, we facilitated an active discussion and exchange between all participants on both the results from the first phase and the further potentials for the near future.
During the workshop all stakeholders and beneficiaries – Generali Insurance, Banca Intesa and the Ministry – have drawn very positive conclusions and proactively discussed the future of AgroProtekt. The KfW project manager underlined that due to its innovative character the project implemented by the consortium led by AFC is actively discussed within KfW and referred to as a lighthouse project in the field of agricultural insurance.
