On January 16, 2020, the new team from the German-Kazakh Agricultural Dialogue project (Agrarpolitischer Dialog, APD) welcomed an official Kazakh delegation in Berlin.
Mr. Aidarbek Saparov, First Vice Minister for Agriculture in Kazakhstan and head of the visiting delegation emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to the ongoing cooperation, which aims to improve the legal and institutional frameworks of the sustainable agricultural sector in Kazakhstan.
To do so, the project will maintain a bilateral dialogue platform on central agricultural topics, placing a strong emphasis on a modern and sustainable agriculture at a political, economic, scientific and social level. Moreover, two focus areas will be on organic agriculture and agricultural finance. The project will strengthen Kazakhstan’s organic sector for example via a strong cooperation with the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM Organics International).
The leading implementing company Agriculture and Finance Consultants GmbH (AFC) formed a consortium with the Academy of German Cooperatives (Akademie Deutscher Genossenschaften, ADG). This project is the fourth phase of an on-going project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and has a volume of 1.7 million Euros.
