The transitional development assistance measure is aimed at vulnerable farmers, agricultural associations and cooperatives, vulnerable MSMEs involved in food processing, and other value chains downstream of agriculture that can no longer sustain their production due to the crisis or do not adapt their production methods and products to the changed market conditions In Mount Lebanon.
The tendered work package aims to support selected agricultural associations to adapt their production systems to market conditions that have changed as a result of crisis.
TASKS OF THE EXPERT
- Analyse training needs of farmers with a focus on productivity, resource efficiency, diversity and profitability
- Development of targeted actions for capacity development (e.g. good agricultural practices in production of different agricultural products)
- Development of training concept with focus on practical and participative methodologies
- Implementation of certain trainings and supervision of trainers (from trainers pool) for specialised trainings
- Close coordination and cooperation with expert 3 and development of joint training approaches for farmers and cooperatives/ lose farmers networks
- Education/training: University degree (master’s) in agriculture, economic s,or social science
- Languages: Knowledge of Arabic (C2), knowledge of English (C1) in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
- General professional experience: 15 years in agriculture, economics, development studies
- Specific professional experience: 7 years of vocational education and training and capacity building in the field of agriculture and value chain development
- Development cooperation (DC) experience: 5 years of experience working in development cooperation projects
The envisaged start date is from January or February 2023 over two and half years to three years
