Strenghtening of value chains

The Project aims to support to the further improvement of critical rural value chains in the agricultural sector in selected areas of Oromia and Amhara in Ethiopia, in order to increase agricultural productivity and market access (mainly access of farmers to input markets) for highpotential rainfed farming systems in the targeted project areas in a climate smart and ecologically friendly manner.

Objectives

Here you should specify the general objectives of the project

  • Objective 1 : lmproved access of farmers to inputs (i.e., seed, mechanization, information systems, extension advisory)
  • Objective 2 : lmproved services by actors critical for functioning value chain linkages of targeted inputs
  • Objective 3 : lmproved capacities of Project Executing Agency (PEA) and Project lmplementing Units (PIU)
Qualifications: 
  • Degree in e.g. agriculture, natural resource management, social or environmental studies or related
  • Long-term practical experience in planning and implementation of social safeguards measures in comparable projects
  • Proven long-term working experience in the sector
  • Experience in rural development and agriculture
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Value Chain approach
  • Previous work in the region / country
  • Language : Good English skills, knowledge of local languages is a plus

32 months is foreseen after the award, expected to start in Q1 2025
