Promoting Capacity Building in Financial Institutions in South Asia

The Asian Development Bank has approved 2 facilities in Sri Lanka to the non-banking financial sector for leasing activities and on-lending to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The ADB funding is being supported by technical assistance (TA), which will help the banks improve capacity to provide MSMEs with longer-term financing. The work will focus on:

(i) strengthening risk management and internal controls;

(ii) developing innovative financing strategies and product development;

(iii) management training;

(iv) the development of an Environment and Management System.

 The ADB seeks the technical assistance for the following 3 components, which aims at:

(i) strengthening risk management and internal controls, developing innovative financing strategies and product development with a special focus on reaching the unbanked/rural population;

(ii) management/leadership training including the implementation of a gender sensitive human resources strategy; and

(iii) the development of an Environment and Management System.

Qualifications: 
  • The international consultant should be fluent in English
  • A minimum of 7 years of leadership/coaching experience
  • Experience dealing with banks/ NBFI’s and international experience providing leadership training is a prerequisite
  • The candidate should have a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or any other relevant degree.
Start / Duration: 

The engagement will require a maximum of 4 person months depending on the extent of the work needed for the NBFI.
