
The overall objective of this assignment is to assist the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) – primary project partner – and the Central Statistical Organization (CSO) by developing and conducting the first comprehensive in-country diagnostic of the access, use and quality of financial services by individuals and enterprises.
Tasks of the Analysts
- Develop terms of reference for the research experts or firms and engage them for conducting the field research
- Design the survey questionnaire and other research tools (focus groups, expert panels)
- Develop relevant financial inclusion indicators for Iraq in coordination with GIZ and CBI
- Cooperate with and guide the selected research firm and offer on-going technical support as needed
- Analyse quantitative data and prepare summary statistics
- Review the quantitative data and relate it to the quantitative results of the field survey
- Draft the summary report and interpretation of the results, including the financial inclusion indicators
- Facilitate workshops and present data to the stakeholders at the workshops
- Formulate recommendations for financial inclusion policies going forward
- Provide guidance for the future implementation of financial inclusion research
- Provide technical support to CBI, CSO (Central Statistical Organization) and other
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in economics, finance, or statistics
- Proficient in English (C1); proficient in Arabic (C1) in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
- 10 years of professional experience in economic or financial sector development in emerging markets and developing countries, of which 5 years relating to financial inclusion
- 5 years of experience in conducting field research and statistical analysis in the context of finance
- 3 years’ experience in the MENA region
