The Microfinance Programme aims to enhance access to long-term refinancing in local currency for Nigerian microfinance banks (MFBs) to enable these institutions to improve the outreach and product range for MSMEs in the urban and rural space and to better serve their target clients. This will have an impact on job creation and income enhancement among the MFB’s target group, the economically active poor in Nigeria. This goal will be achieved by awarding subordinated loans to sustainable Nigerian MFBs. KfW would like to consider Fortis Microfinance Bank (FMFB) as the first institution to receive funding under the Microfinance Program in Nigeria II. Fortis plans to utilize a 5 million EUR loan for agriculture lending, micro housing lending and energy efficiency-renewable energy (EE-RE) lending.
- min. of 10 years relevant working experience;
- experience in microfinance and energy efficiency/renewable energy (for households / MSMEs);
- experience in housing microfinance is an asset
- previous work experience with donor agencies (e.g. KfW, World Bank, GIZ etc.);
- team coordination experience.
The project has a duration of 18 months and is expected to start in Q4 of this year.
