AFC führt seit Januar 2016 das Projekt "Agritrade" in der Ukraine durch. Ziel des Projektes ist es, staatliche und privatwirtschaftliche Strukturen der Agrar- und Ernährungsbranche in der Ukraine für den weiteren Ausbau der Handelsbeziehungen im Rahmen des DCFTA zu stärken.

Responsible for the content of agricultural education is the agency Agroosvita, which has been under the Ministry of Education since 2015, and from September 2019 will be responsible for all vocational education as the "Scientific-Methodological Centre for Higher and Further Vocational Education (WMZ VFPO)".

Der landwirtschaftliche Sektor hat traditionell eine hohe Bedeutung für die ukrainische Volkswirtschaft. Bedingt durch positive Boden- und Klimaverhältnisse und durch die gesetzten politischen Rahmenbedingungen erreichte der Agrarsektor 1990 einen Anteil am Bruttosozialprodukt (BSP) von rund 25%.
Nach dem Zusammenbruch der Sowjetunion im Jahre 1990 und bedingt durch den immensen Strukturwandel nahm die landwirtschaftliche Produktion kontinuierlich ab und erreichte im Jahr 2006 einen Tiefpunkt mit nur noch 7,5 % Anteil am BSP.
