German-Ukrainian expert dialogue on the sustainable development of the fruit and vegetable sector

The project aims to make a key contribution to strengthening the fruit and vegetable sector in Ukraine. The focus is on agricultural dialogue with the partner ministries for agricultural policy and food as well as education and science and downstream institutions to improve the framework conditions in the fruit and vegetable sector, especially with regard to production and marketing.

German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture (COA)

The Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) is supporting collaboration with third party countries in the fields of food and agriculture in the form of its bilateral cooperation programme. Its objectives in this respect include strengthening bilateral dialogue and mutual understanding between BMEL, partner ministries and other actors within the agriculture and food sector.

German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD) - Phase 6

Ukraine's agricultural policy makes an enhanced contribution to the promotion of sustainable and competitive agriculture and the integrated development of rural areas. The project objective is that Politicians, experts and managers in the Ukrainian and German agricultural sectors have a growing mutual understanding of key agricultural policy issues. Transferred know-how finds its way into political decision-making processes.

Promotion of vocational training at agricultural colleges in Ukraine (in short: FABU), 2nd phase

The agricultural education sector was transferred to the Ministry of Education and Science (MBS) of Ukraine in 2015 as part of the general reform process (previously, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, MAPE, was responsible for agricultural education). Responsible for the content of agricultural education is the agency Agroosvita, which has been under the Ministry of Education since 2015, and from September 2019 will be responsible for all vocational education as the "Scientific-Methodological Centre for Higher and Further Vocational Education (WMZ VFPO)".

Förderung der Berufsausbildung an landwirtschaftlichen Colleges in der Ukraine

Der landwirtschaftliche Sektor hat traditionell eine hohe Bedeutung für die ukrainische Volkswirtschaft. Bedingt durch positive Boden- und Klimaverhältnisse und durch die gesetzten politischen Rahmenbedingungen erreichte der Agrarsektor 1990 einen Anteil am Bruttosozialprodukt (BSP) von rund 25%.

Nach dem Zusammenbruch der Sowjetunion im Jahre 1990 und bedingt durch den immensen Strukturwandel nahm die landwirtschaftliche Produktion kontinuierlich ab und erreichte im Jahr 2006 einen Tiefpunkt mit nur noch 7,5 % Anteil am BSP.
