Despite the large hydroelectric capacity, the power generation mix is dominated by gas-fired generation. The Ivorian Nationally Determined Contribution is ambitious and in the process of revision which includes a ‘bottom-up’ approach leading to clear contributions from individual GHG-producing sectors.

Technical Cooperation with Albania

 

The BMZ-funded TC module on rural development "Sustainable Development in Rural Areas in Albania", implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH since January 2019.

The TC module applies an integrated approach on rural development with a focus on agriculture and rural tourism. 

The TC module works in four fields of interventions (Outputs) so that:

As the country's most important sector, the agricultural and food economy secures the livelihood and income of more than 5.7 million people (72 % of the economically active population), the majority of whom are women.

However, the sector has low productivity overall and is still strongly oriented toward self-sufficiency.

Entrepreneurship program for start-up and MSME in the agribusiness sector of Irak

The project comprises of two Modules which are Macro Economic Policy Consulting and Labour Market Interventions. The latter is tasked with Skills Development and Job Placement, Inclusion and Integration for Job Market Re-entry and SME development support, innovation and cooperation with the international private sector.
