Le PASSIP se base sur une longue coopération avec le Mali dans le secteur agricole et présente des progrès considérables concernant la mise en œuvre de l’approche « Irrigation de Proximité (IP) ». Il fait partie du Programme de la Coopération au Développement: Promotion de l’agriculture / agriculture irriguée durable au Mali. Le PASSIP entame sa quatrième phase au début de l’année 2020. Le focus de ce programme réside dans la promotion de l’irrigation de proximité au profit des petites et moyennes exploitations agricoles familiales de certaines régions au Mali.
