After the successful completion of the first phase of Agritrade Ukraine Project, AFC Agriculture and Finance Consultants in consortium with IAK Agrar Consulting have been awarded a contract by the German Ministry of Food and Agriculture to implement the second phase of the project.
The main objective of this second phase is to strengthen state and private-sector structures in Ukraine's agricultural and food sector for the further expansion of trade relations within the framework of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA). In comparison to the first phase, the project has only two components namely:
- Strengthening of the trade competencies (in particular technical and methodological competencies) in the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on agricultural trade within the DCFTA.
- Supporting business consulting institutions in the establishment of their services for companies in the agri-food sector to improve competitiveness and export capability within the framework of DCFTA.
The project is scheduled from 2019 until 2021 with a budget of 1.794.090 EUR and is expected to bring substantial support for the further positive development of trade relations between Ukraine and the EU.
