Following the successful Agri-Networking Days in 2017, also this year started with a productive and interesting exchange of international experts of AFC and staff at AFC HQ in Bonn. Team leaders and project managers from GIZ/BMZ and BMEL-funded projects gathered for two days at the Gustav-Stresemann-Institute in Bonn. During two days of intensive exchanges of experiences, best practices and lessons learnt experts from projects in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe benefited from the network of international projects. The Agri-Networking days provide a platform for our project staff to meet each other personally, creating a platform for exchange.
The first day of the event focused on discussing successes and challenges in public relations and project visibility. Potentials and risks of social media strategies were among the topics discussed.
The second day focused on the topic of agricultural finance. Representing a core field of work of AFC, agricultural finance issues have also been discussed during the 11th Financial Expert Day of AFC and ADG in Montabaur. While the event in Montabaur focused on the approaches targeting the suppliers of financial products, the agricultural expert day highlighted tools and challenges on the level of the agricultural value chain actors. Follow-up activities of the topics of both days have been defined and will be taken up throughout the year. Feedback from participants showed that the event was a resounding success. We are therefore looking forward to welcoming our team leaders again in 2019!
