The second international long-term expert (16 person-months) has the task to advise the planning, preparation and implementation of curricula development, Training of Trainers and Training Provider support activities in the various pilot countries, with a special focus on gender in skills development and involvement of the private sector.
He/she will ensure sustainability of support measures by promoting the development of manuals, guidelines, process descriptions for the project partners. The expert will be based in Pretoria, South Africa, on the premises of the GIZ CAADP ATVET programme. Frequent travelling to pilot countries will be required. The expert will especially focus on implementing activities in Namibia and South Africa and act as the regional coordinator for Southern Africa.
Main tasks of the international long-term expert 2 include:
Advise planning, preparation and implementation of curricula development for up to 10 new ATVET value chains as well as for value chains relevant for women in 6 countries, ToT and Training Provider support including gender-sensitive training delivery activities in close cooperation with GIZ coordinators and experts in ATVET countries.
Steering of short-term experts (STE), conduct quality assurance for STE assignments.
Ensure the sustainability of measures by supporting development of manuals, guidelines, process descriptions for project partners.
The following core requirements are placed on the qualifications of the int. long-term expert 2:
- Master degree in related subjects to (A) TVET and/or agriculture, vocational training
- 8 years of combined work experience e.g. in the fields of (A) TVET and agricultural value chain promotion
- Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with curricula development, training of trainers, (A)TVET school development/management, cooperative and competency-based education and training (CBET) approaches, gender-transformative skills development, value chain promotion preferably in agriculture / food or related sectors as well as proven experience in working with/in private sector companies (preferably Agribusiness)
- Proven practical knowledge and experience in state-of-the-art knowledge management and different formats of learning material e.g. e-learning
- Experience in development cooperation
- Knowledge on promoting gender equality
- Proven facilitation and moderation
