Strengthening SMME access to credit

The objective of the contract is to support the beneficiary, the Kingdom of Lesotho, in improving access to creditand other trade-related capacities to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs); to build capacity withingovernment institutions to provide required support services to businesses and to business development serviceproviders and umbrella organisations; develop coordination mechanisms in accordance with the MSME policy;and to prepare and disseminate relevant and pertinent information to entrepreneurs and other sector players.

Qualifications: 

Qualifications and skills

• University graduate, minimum of master’s Degree in Enterprise Development, Economics, or MBA

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience on PSD and related reforms, SMME development agencies and SMME financing) a minimum of 10 years in a SMME development and PSD environment.

General professional experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience; of which at least of 5 years is in  the management of BDS and other PSD-related institution and/or BDS programme design and BDS products engineering/delivery leading to concrete SMME development outcomes.

Specific professional experience

  • Practical experience in start-up, SMME growth and SMME access to market  programme design and management;
  • Experience in capacity building of SMME development/promotion agencies, private sector associations and/or consultants/BDS providers;
  • Practical experience in private sector and SMME sector development in sub-Saharan Africa will be an added advantage.
