Strengthening SMME access to credit

The objective of the contract is to support the beneficiary, the Kingdom of Lesotho, in improving access to creditand other trade-related capacities to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs); to build capacity withingovernment institutions to provide required support services to businesses and to business development serviceproviders and umbrella organisations; develop coordination mechanisms in accordance with the MSME policy;and to prepare and disseminate relevant and pertinent information to entrepreneurs and other sector players.

Qualifications: 

Qualifications and skills

  • University graduate, minimum of master’s Degree in Enterprise development, Economics, MBA, Finance or related fields
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience of which at least 5 years in SMME policy management, business enabling environment reforms and/or financial sector related reforms and SMME development related activities.

 

General professional experience

  • Experience in the design and management of regulatory/legislative framework and fiscal/financial and other incentives that support the development of entrepreneurship, SMME and private businesses, private sector and trade regime in African countries
  • Experience in both policy management and institutional development for developing countries within the framework of technical and financial assistance provided by the EU and other development partners.

 

Specific professional experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the management of SMME development policies, SMME development strategies and/or integrated SMME programmes.
