Supporting Implementation of Bangladesh Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan

The project aimed at strengthening the country's capacity for climate-resilient development and low-carbon growth, by supporting the Bangladesh Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan (BCCSAP) to implement a capacity development action plan and prioritise BCCSAP projects implementation.

Major activities implemented include:

  • preparation of a country specific climate proof programme and project guidelines for prioritized sectors in line with the BCCSAP;
  • Facilitation of the formulation of sector-specific programmes and projects and update relevant policies;
  • Preparation of a programme for clean development mechanism (CDM) and nationally appropriate mitigation action (NAMA); and
  • Preparation of a programme for knowledge management and enhance operational effectiveness.
