
The “Deforestation-free supply chains” program, financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development aims to improve the framework conditions and capacities of key actors to increase the sustainability of production and marketing in the agriculture and aquaculture supply chains for cocoa, shrimp, livestock, timber and pitahaya, thereby reducing pressure on forest ecosystems in the provinces of Esmeraldas and Manabí.
Tasks of the expert
- Advise on international and national/regional best practices in financial models and/or tools to be applied in sustainable and deforestation-free supply chains (including analysis, technical advice, activity development, capacity building (coaching))
- Advise on credit and green finance in general
- Support the design of activities with a focus on integrating financial issues into the programme portfolio
- Develop materials and virtual platforms for the training processes mentioned in the work packages
- Support in the selection and support of projects and partnerships between companies and producer associations
Qualifications:
- Master's degrees in economics, finance, agricultural/environmental sciences or comparable disciplines / master's degrees in finance, environmental sustainability and rural extension, or economics
- Spanish, C2-level in the Common European
- English, C1-level in the Common European
- General professional experience: 10 years of professional experience in their respective disciplines
- Specific professional experience: 4 years of professional experience in their discipline, with actors and organisations related to chains and work packages
- Experience in the field of development cooperation: Each of the 4 experts with 2 years of experience in development cooperation projects
