The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) mandated the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH with the implementation of the global program ‘Promotion of nutrition-sensitive potato value chains in East Africa’. The project runs from 01/2016 to 06/2021 in two countries, namely Kenya and Uganda. In Kenya the implementation has already begun whereas the implementation for Uganda is planned to begin in October 2017.
Key tasks:
- Leader of the nutrition component of the project
- Responsibility for M&E as well as communication tasks
- Assistance of the national expert 1 with the day to day business
Qualifications:
Profile:
- University degree in nutrition, household economics or related fields
- At least 5 years professional experience in implementing projects in the sector
- Work experience in Eastern Uganda is desirable
- Basic knowledge on M&E and communication is required
- Proficient knowledge in English is required ( at least C1- level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Knowledge of local languages (e.g. Masaaba) is a prerequisite
Start / Duration:
All long-term experts are expected to start working on 01.10.2017
