The overall objective of this Technical Assistance (TA) operation is to support the expansion of sustainable lending to SMEs in agricultural and tourism sectors in Armenia, thus contributing to the broadening and deepening of the financial sector, supporting SMEs and promoting the development of the private sector as well as creating and securing employment and income in rural areas in Armenia.
Key expert 2: Expert in Agricultural Financing (minimum 110 man/days)
Qualifications and skills
- Education to at least University Degree in Agricultural Economy, Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or related disciplines;
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; knowledge of Armenian and/or Russian would be an advantage;
Computer literacy.
General professional experience
At least 15 years of relevant professional experience in the financing of agricultural businesses;
At least 10 years of professional experience in product development and capacity building of financial institutions;
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience with risk management systems, including environmental and climate risks assessment.
Specific professional experience
At least 10 years of professional experience of providing finance advisory services to SMEs in agribusiness sector;
- At least 5 years of professional experience with microfinance institutions in agricultural sector;
At least 5 years of professional experience in providing trainings to SMEs in the agriculture/agribusiness sectors; previous experience in training of small farmers in “financial literacy” would be an asset.
The Consultant will be based in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, but may be required to travel throughout the country during the TA operational period.
The intended start date is December 2015 and the period of execution of the activities is of 9 months from the commencement date.
