The seventh Moroccan International Agricultural Show will be held from April 25 – 29, 2012 in Meknes. The agricultural sector is an essential part of the Moroccan economy – supported by the “Plan Maroc Vert”. Within the next ten years, 13 billion euros from state and private companies are to be spent in this sector.
SIAM Meknes is the most important agricultural show in Northern Africa: around 650.000 visitors and 850 exhibitors from 40 countries are expected to use this opportunity to meet business partners and gather information on innovative products and processes.
AFC has been successfully working in Morocco since 1994 and has stayed active in the region ever since. Given the importance of the country for AFC Consultants International, a subsidiary was founded in Morocco in 2010 (headquartered in Rabat). The newly established company offers services for clients in Morocco and the Maghreb countries.
Just recently, the MCC-funded project “Provision of a project management training cycle for staff of the Ministry of Agriculture” has been successfully finalized by AFC. Training curricula for staff from the Ministry have been prepared and implemented for about 300 participants in four regions of the country. Please find more information on this assignment here.
At SIAM 2012, AFCI Consultants-Maroc presents the on-going project “Training, Technical Assistance and Strengthening of Beneficiaries, Professional Organizations and Service Providers within the Date Value Chain in Selected Oasis Regions”. This service contract is part of the MCA Fruit Cultivation Project which aims at promoting the cultivation and marketing of perennial fruit crops in various provinces of Morocco. The core task of this 6 million euro project is training for agricultural producers and processors.
Furthermore, AFC Consultants International (headquarters in Bonn) will have an information stand within the German pavilion.
