The project is part of the global initiative „One World with-out Hunger“, launched by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in 2014. Its core instrument of implementation is a matching grant fund (EUR 1,95 Mio.) to co-finance innovation projects and training & capacity building measures related to selected agricultural value chains.
The programme “Promotion of economic and rural development in disadvantaged regions” is embedded into the German Government’s special initiative “Stabilization and Development in the Middle East and North Africa”. The expected outcome of the programme is to improve the economic performance of the local population in the provinces of Ouarzazate, Midelt, Tinghir, Tata, and Zagora. These five provinces which are partly located in the High Atlas mountains belong to the poorest provinces of the country.
The Goal of the Project is Sustainable approaches to broad-based soil conservation and rehabilitation supported.
Activities to be provided
► Situation analysis and selection of pilot areas
Identify and analyse relevant stakeholders in the three pilot counties
Conduct study analysing the use of resources in selected watersheds
Module objective: Sustainable approaches to the large-scale promotion of soil conservation and rehabilitation of degraded soils are realised in selected regions of Burkina Faso.
Module A: Techniques for water conservation and soil fertility increase are an inherent part of the production systems of the rural actors operating in the treated watersheds.

The global project acts in three fields of intervention, of which GOPA concerns itself uniquely of the first one.
Objectives: Economic growth increases and is more inclusive: Improved framework conditions for economic activities contribute to increased investments and raised income.

The objective of the project is to enhance the identification and implementation of innovations along the maize, rice, potato and cassava value chains in seven federal states of Nigeria.
Intervention area 1: Development of ICT-supported and face-to-face value chain platforms for innovation management & competence development
The main focus of the project activities shall lie in the support to further develop the Master in Banking and Finance Programme offered by YUE.
Activities to be provided
The program “Inclusive and Ecological Economic Development in Selected Regions of Uzbekistan” builds upon the previous program. The program duration is from 10/2009 to 12/2017. The strategic approach aimes at local/regional economic development in the pilot regions and advisory services at different intervention levels stays the same in the current phase (Nov. 2014-Oct. 2017).
Das Königreich Marokko befindet sich derzeit im Umbruch. Auf die Forderungen nach stärkerer politischer Teilhabe und wirtschaftlicher Gerechtigkeit, die im Rahmen des „arabischen Frühlings“ in Nordafrika laut wurden, hat das Land mit Reformen reagiert. Nun gilt es, diese Maßnahmen nachhaltig umzusetzen und eine wirtschaftliche Grundlage zu schaffen, die allen Bevölkerungsteilen des Landes zugutekommt. Bislang sind insbesondere die ländlichen Provinzen Marokkos vom wirtschaftlichen Wachstum, das in den dynamischen Regionen an der Küste und im Norden des Landes stattfindet, ausgeschlossen.
The Project aims to support innovation of agriculture and the food industry, to help improve the income of small farms and increase both, employment in the agriculture and food sector and of the regional food supply, in selected states of India.
